The Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday unveiled full participation details for its upcoming roundtable focused on options market structure, scheduled to take place April 16, 2026 at the Commission's headquarters located at 100 F Street, N.E. in Washington, D.C. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. ET and will be open to both in-person and virtual attendees, with the proceedings webcast live on the SEC's official website.
This roundtable represents a continuation of ongoing regulatory scrutiny into options trading infrastructure, as the Commission examines how current market arrangements serve investors and maintain fair competition among market participants. The session will be structured around three principal panels addressing competition in quote-driven markets, the customer experience for non-broker-dealer participants, and emerging challenges associated with options market expansion.
Panel One will tackle how the existing options market structure facilitates or hinders fair competition among liquidity providers, with moderators Jamie Selway and Arun Manoharan of the Division of Trading and Markets leading discussions featuring representatives from IEX, Citadel Securities, Jane Street Options, Cornerstone Research, Susquehanna, and other major industry participants including the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
The customer experience panel will examine how individual investors and non-dealer entities interact with listed options markets, moderated by Jon Kroeper and Eric Juzenas of the SEC's Division of Trading and Markets. This session will include perspectives from Robinhood Securities, Cboe, MEMX, FINRA, Public.com, and the University of California Irvine offering academic viewpoints on investor market interactions.
Panel Three will explore growth opportunities and challenges facing the options markets, with moderators including Associate Director Richard Holley III. This session brings together representatives from exchanges like NYSE and Nasdaq, clearinghouse Options Clearing Corporation, global market makers including Optiver and IMC Trading, broker-dealers such as Goldman Sachs and Schwab, and industry associations including the Security Traders Association.
Commissioners Hester Peirce and Mark Uyeda will deliver opening remarks at 9:00 a.m., followed by data presentations from the Division of Trading and Markets' Office of Analytics and Research. Commission Chair Paul S. Atkins is scheduled to deliver remarks at 1:45 p.m., providing the Commission's perspective on market structure considerations.
The event is free and open to the public, with in-person registration required due to security screening protocols at the SEC headquarters. Online attendees may access the live webcast starting April 16 without prior registration, and a recording will be archived on the SEC's website for later viewing.
