The Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division have extended the deadline for public comments on their inquiry into guidance for collaborations among competitors, giving stakeholders nearly another month to respond.
The agencies moved the comment deadline from April 24, 2026, to May 21, 2026, saying the extension will give stakeholders more time to provide input on updated guidance for the business community.
The inquiry, announced Feb. 23, concerns possible guidance on collaborations among competitors. The agencies said the effort would build on the 2000 Antitrust Guidelines for Collaborations Among Competitors.
Attorneys, economists, academics, consumer groups, industry stakeholders and other members of the public may submit comments of no more than 18 pages through Regulations.gov until the new deadline.
The agencies said the submitted information will be used as they consider updated guidance. For antitrust practitioners, the next step is the close of the comment window, after which the agencies will have a fuller record for evaluating any update to competitor-collaboration guidance.
