PHILADELPHIA (LN) — U.S. District Judge Kearney on May 11 denied Simon & Simon P.C.'s motion to dismiss Uber Technologies Inc.'s lawsuit, ordering the defendants to file answers by May 27.
The ruling allows the commercial dispute between the ride-hailing company and the Philadelphia-based law firm to proceed.
Kearney issued the order after considering oral argument and post-hearing memoranda from both sides.
The judge denied the defendants' joint motion to dismiss, which had sought to end the case before factual development.
Simon & Simon must file its answer to the complaint within two weeks of the order.
