MARSHALL, Texas (LN) — A federal court in Texas on May 6, 2026, consolidated three patent infringement suits brought by Piney Woods Mobility LLC against major telecommunications carriers, ordering that future filings be directed to the lead case while preserving individual cases for trial.
The order, signed April 23, 2026, designates Case No. 2:26-cv-00123 as the lead case and merges Case Nos. 2:26-cv-00121 and 2:26-cv-00124 as member cases. All three cases will proceed together on pretrial issues, with each remaining active for individual trial proceedings.
The court instructed the clerk to add consolidated defendants into the lead case and their corresponding lead and local counsel only. Additional counsel may file a Notice of Appearance case to continue as counsel of record.
Attorneys who appeared pro hac vice in any member case may file a Notice of Appearance case without filing an additional pro hac vice application. Counsel who have not yet appeared in a member case of consolidation should file a Notice of Appearance case, stating the relevant member case.
The order did not address the merits of the underlying patent claims.
